In a HEART kind of mood

with Valentines being so close I have been making heart projects like crazy, it also seems I have been caught up in pink and brown moment. My latest project I just finished is a heart wall hanging, not to sure what I am going to do with it now that it is done lol, but it was fun making it....used the serger for all the piecing , added the hearts with my sewing machine, then hand quilted around the hearts and squares and the binding.

since getting my serger for Christmas I have discovered a new found love of sewing again......the love for sewing comes and goes Have to embrace the creative rush when it is here. Made a few things over the last few weeks

Santa was the best this year....he brought me a serger for Christmas...wink, wink thanks hun been doing a little bit of playing with it....found this awesome pattern for the manny on DIY dish website they did not use a serger but I wanted to play with my new toy....the shoulders did not turn perfect but the worst of the 2 I just placed a flower in front of it..our little secret K..the little foot stool was my design, it was an old pin cushion that I made years ago, it really needed a make over

Ready for Christmas....

The first time ever I am ready for Christmas....shoppings all done, decorations are done, everything is wrapped, I even got the Turkey....hehehehe!! So excited!! All the planning started a couple of months ago decided this year for Christmas I was going to do stockings for the kids. Our stockings are very old and small, and if I am going to do stockings, then they would need to be a little bigger, So off I went to the fabric store after a few hours and brainstorming I got some goodies to play with. After 2 weeks of cutting, sewing, ripping out stitches and more sewing. I decided I totally miss playing with my sewing machine, I also decided I need a serger, sewing time would be half of what it was if I had a serger. So the search for a new toy has begun. I managed to make 8 stockings and 2 little bags for the Grandbabies.

Pretty happy with how everything turned out, this may have started a new tradition for us I really enjoyed making the stockings....I have got a ton of new ideas for next year.

I love Halloween..I love all the decorations and seeing the creativity of the kids and their costumes....we started thinking about making decorations for this most wondrous night....in August....Ripley and I headed out on an adventure one beautiful Saturday morning with a list containing items such as wood turnings, candle sticks, candle holders and knobs/finials....anything really with a nice shape...Ripley is awesome at finding little treasures...she is awesome to take on a treasure hunt. it is like she knew exactly what I had in mind... after a few hours we had all that we needed to get started on our alchemy scene...BWHahahaha! oH!! and we headed to Home Depot for a can of flat black spray paint.... almost everything was painted flat black a couple of pieces were painted with a satin finish for a little variety....we started to put everything on display last Sunday...I could not wait for Thanksgiving to be over....

We had so much fun finding all the pieces and painting them and coming up with the best labels to put on the jars I think the best part finding just the right candies to fill the jars with...lol most of the candy was gone by the time I took the pictures...lol Darn Kids ; )

MIA Blogger...

I know I have been absent for a while....life good and bad has a way of messing around with creating time....and my computer was down and out for 3 weeks...it was out for repairs....it came back with a new touch pad, new battery and cable connector, new power supply and my screen was repaired, it had a large scratch running through the centre....I was so excited have it come home : ) a funny thing happend while it was gone?? I discovered that I had more fun when it was not in my lap...I seemed to spend more time creating then surfing....lol I have kind of lost interest in the net?? part of the reason I that I have been MIA for so long....I was also lucky enough to have my Mother-in-law visit us for 2 weeks...yes I enjoy having my M-I-L stay with us...totally miss her. We did not really do alot while she was here, we got caught up on life together talked shop....she is a beader, painter, knitter and gardener and a bit of an herbalist....it was awesome. During one of our someday chats she mentioned that she found one of her old sweater patterns - a loppy?? that she is going to make when she got home I think loppy is the type of yarn, but I do know the sweater pattern she is refering to. In the 80s everyone was wearing them...I totally love them, they are so warm. This weekend was so blustery and cold....I marched down stairs pulled one out of the box...I have 4 of them?? all close to the same colour?? I hit a few yard sales down east about 10 years ago or so and bought a couple for like $2bucks or so....yeehaw!! then I stuck them in a box. Every year in the fall I pull them out of the box I look them over fold them back up and place them back in the box,,,lol I washed it pulled out a few handy little tools and set out to restore my classic loppy sweater...

An hour with a couple of dull razors and a sweater shaver ... and **tada** an awesome restored classic sweater... and loads of fuzzy stuff to gt rid of ...lol totally worth it ; )

Halloween is just around the corner TOTALLY LOVE halloween....I donated or threw out all my decorations last year, wait...I keep a few things - my awesome furry spider and my lamp, I made the lamp about 20 years ago and will never part with it I can't wait to pull it out each year.

I will take some pix and post later this week...it has been one heck of a week and I am off to bed...

the last 2 weeks....

have been totally horrible....I was laid off work in April and it has been totally awesome, the money situation was a little hard but ya figure out how to make it work.It was totally awesome, I had so much time to myself...kids were at school, hubby was at work...I was having so much fun creating new projects and finishing older projects It has been so totally awesome : ) Well 3 weeks ago I was called back to work WWwwwwaaaaahhhhhh!! I am totally hating it!! It is so hard to get back into the groove of work the whole time I am there I am thinking about all the cool things I could be doing at home sigh!! and by the time I get home from work I am sooooooo tired that I just wanna go to bed, I have no energy to be creative at all. I have not done anything in 2 weeks to release my creative build up....you would think that on the weekend I would be so ready to get to it....to anything!! nope can't do it, got housework and groceries and yard work and laundry and blahblahblah!! ....I'm sure that all you ladies out there can feel my pain....right!! Most days I feel like I'm running on empty and there is never enough time to do all the things that you wanna do....sigh!! (insert full on tantrum) I was spoiled for a few months and it will take me a little bit of time to get myself reorganized and find my creative groove again...darn!! I was on such a creative roll...I was having so much darn fun....darn it darn it darn it....lol

Well!! enough with the whining and complaining!!! .

I did manange to get one of my small projects finished - I made a small family plaque. I really love all the gallery wall projects that have been appearing out in blog land....I used the frames that I had on hand so they did not line up perfectly I sprayed them all black then I painted my little plaque and played around with the layout a bit and **tada**one gallery wall--that is almost finished...lol I still need to print a few more pictures, just can't decide which ones I want to print yet....they are all so darn cute....lol

Well better get my butt off to bed, gotta get up for - Okay not going to say it... lol no more whinning

Twinkle, twinkle little star....

deck caddy

my granddaughter turned 1 in June and after much consideration I decided to make something for her - after all what do you buy for a 1yr old that won't be thrown aside in a month or 2?? sooo!! what do I make her??? I was thinking about that old wooden box that I turned into a treasure for my deck and I thought "HEY!! use the other one for Ruby make her something for her new room!....so after a lot of thought I decided on a nursery rhyme or part of one and so Ruby's little reclaimed old wooden flower box came to life

I was a little under the gun to get this finished on time....I did it twice, I did not like the way it was going the first time so....ReDo day before her birthday lol totally luv it the 2nd time around : ) Her Momma really likes it 2.... I really should have taken pictures of the box before I started to paint...I'm really bad at before and after shots??Ruby did get this in time for her birthday....I am so late posting it because I forgot to take a picture?? I painted the whole thing a dark blue colour that I had laying around, printed out the font and traced into to the box and painted that with some leftover paint from a bedroom redo I created the stars using a couple of pop cans (rootbeer...lol) the 2 smaller stars are puched out using the Stamping Up punches and the larger one is made using a template that I made up, I ran the stars through the cuttle bug using the Swiss dots folder and used a ruler and stylus to give them some dimension....it was so much fun to create, once it was working for me that is...lol and it has inspired a Tim Burton/Alice in Wonderland style paint job for a little table & chairs set...still working on that one though...will post when all finished...I'm so excited it is starting to look really cool...

I think I'm in LoVe....

K!! I found this old cabinet door... .and fell in love....no!! totally fell in love, with the details in the this door - I mean really who does not luv a good rope design?? My hubby thinks I'm CcCcRrraZy!! after a few shakes of his head and a little persuasion by me...I bought the door anyway- he'll love it!...the door was in fab shape, no holes anywhere to be found, not even a tiny little hole for a door knob...it was an awesome find (insert big Cheshire cat like grin :) ) As you can see the damage is very minimal a few scratches nothing to major....they had 2 but one was so banged up it was heart breaking....sigh!! sniffsniff

after a little sanding...have I mentioned how much I hate sanding?? a coat of primer, snuck (is that a word??) in a little crackle left it to dry for a day then added a coat of sage green paint and my master piece was well under way....I left it to dry for 2 days - it has been very humid here and I did not want to rush in and ruin all the work to this point...I did a little distressing taped off the outside and painted the center panel with 2 coats of homemade chalk board paint waited...hmmm!! lots of waiting! when that dried I painted the Menu graphic found here http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/2011/05/vintage-typography-menu-headings.html ) I have to say this site is awesome for vintage graphics, WARNING!! if you venture over to the GF site!! be very very careful it will eat up your whole day there is so much to see, and dream about tons and tons of inspiration, it may keep you up at night...lol trust me experience talking here...lol

this little sign was totally inspired by the poem "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe, I have always loved this poem and my daughter has taken up the cause with Mr. Poe - her blog is Poe inspired and her new little kitty is named?? If you guessed POE you are correct....hahaha!!
The sign is hand painted using good ~~MS font~~ font is Cardinal you can find it here http://www.dafont.com/cardinal.font - ~~I think? hmmm!! I better check on that just to make sure~~. Just a piece of wood that was lying around the backyard....hubby is ~~building~~ finishing a shed he has been working on...it is a thing of beauty....my little work/shed is next can't wait so excited...lol Took my handy dandy jigsaw and jagged the ends a bit and painted the hunk of wood the coolest shade of black evha!! it looks purple but not really you would swear its black?? its totally weird... hehehe.. I love it...mistint for 3buckaroos gotta luv mistakes...lol dry brushed some white and traced the letters added the little raven and painted with black acrylic paint... I totally luvin it ; )

vintage clock face....

its just my old lazy Susan redone!! I LOVE IT - it turned out way better than I imagined....the inspiration came from this awesome craft-gineer @ http://thecreativityexchange.blogspot.com/2011/07/painted-clock-on-my-wall-it-works-too.html now there is no way I could recreate her design on my wall my space could not support something so large..my space is pretty small....so had to work with a smaller scale and my lazy Susan was sitting right there begging for a makeover....lol

spray painted black and brushed on white

I was a little impatient after painting on the white and made a bit of a mess removing the circles..."oops!" but I love the look that it added a little more distressing and I used really cheap dollar store vinyl and the white bled under and made a bit more of a mess but again it totally added to the look I was after....gotta totally luv when you goof up and it works out in your favour...lol I cut the letters out on my cricut and traced them onto the clock face, painted them with watered down black acrylic paint, added a copper line above and below the numeral's and transferred the medallion ( http://ezprosearch.com/stencils.htm ) in the middle with the old fashion method I learned in JR high school- very technical stuff here....scribble on the back of your page with your pencil hard and when you flip it back over you can transfer your pattern, I used a pen for the transfer it has a much finer point and gives a nice crisp line, painted that with more watered down black paint then created some black splotches in random spots and "oops!" I actually dropped my brush at one point, but I left the mess it made I kinda liked it and was inspired to create a splash mark - luv the splash... let the whole thing sit for a day to dry...it has been pretty humid the last couple of days and did not want to remove to much with my sand paper...was not to sure that the cosmos would be smiling on me 3 times in one project and I tend to be pretty rough when sanding ...."sanding" not one of my favourite things to do....next day distressed with some sandpaper added a muddy glaze played around with it till it was the way I wanted and added a few drops of water for good measure blotted the water off .... left it to dry out and finished it off with 3 coats of miniwax furniture polish...luv that stuff buffed it with an old car polisher that I picked up from Value Village last fall, my best $7 purchase to date....lol love it, it saves my poor arms : )

a little piece of inspiration

about 10 years ago a friend gave me a couple of old planter boxes from a green house in Kingston, not really sure how old they are? Anyway we have since moved 3 times and each move my hubby wanted to chuck these little beauty's into the trash....I managed to hold on to them, thinking that one day I would do something with them.

About week ago I stumbled onto this wonderful site http://www.graphicsfairy-diy.com// and after wondering around found this image http://www.graphicsfairy-diy.com/2011/05/french-cafe-towel-printable-transfer.html the light bulb suddenly went on!! I was totally inspired, so excited, immediately searched the shed and pulled out my dirty little box....I had stained it about a year ago...but totally hated it stained - so - it went back into the shed only to see the light of day last Monday. I did change the image slightly - the font for cafes was what really caught my attention, after some patient prep, painting, sanding and a dirty glaze.....

I totally luv the transformation. This little beauty has found a new home on my deck, it will be used to transport our supplies back and forth from the kitchen to the deck when we BBQ - which in the spring-summer-fall is every night....I love the BBQ

"Sur le pont" if the translation is correct it means "on the deck" thought that would be a better play on words, considering its new home...lol

The transformation of the second planter box is under way, a gift for Princess Ruby....well maybe? lol

A hunk of drift wood I found about 3 years ago is what started the search, it has sparked a wonderful little creative frenzy....the drift wood has been prepped and is ready to go.....just need to print my font selection and start painting....can't wait to get started on it.....will post pix when finished.

Off to bed I go, went camping this weekend - totally pooped

been totally wrapped up in projects around the house for the last couple of weeks, managed to get my floors sanded, stained and varnished, painted my living room, one wall a couple of times and painted the kitchen. My DH made me a swing for Mothers Day so we painted and stained my new swing : ) I totally luv it...thanks Hon : )

then I painted the kitchen cupboards and started a TROMPE L’OEIL- lol sounds so professional (it is a fake raised panel technique) you can see the instructions here http://www.debbietravis.com/ideas/how-to-gallery/video/6 - I luv Debbie Travis she rocks : )

the cupboards have been put on hold for a bit, as the paint I decided to use is new and is not giving the desired results ....heavy sigh!! darn paint!! I have been painting so much the last few weeks...I need a bit of a break anyway ; )

in between all this fun painting staining and sanding..ahhhh!! I was looking at my old photo albums and decided to take a little walk in the past, pulled out some pregger photos of me and the first pix of the kids made some copies and played around alittle...

I'm not finished yet still need to complete Taylor and Dougs pages....but pretty happy with the results so far thinking I may insert them in the middle of my 2011 book and do a title page for them kind of a book inside a book. I still have to go back and write down all the deets of the big day....I think they will get a kick out of knowing what their big day was like : ) I do not journal on my pages...for me this is a new process...but I think this may get me working in that direction a little more often....fingers crossed anyway : )

time sure has a way of slipping by?? one day it is Saturday and the next thing ya know it is Wednesday...??? I know totally crazy Wednesday already! below are a few of the layouts I have been working on....

these layouts are all done with BG papers - they are from the page of the month classes last year...sad that I am just getting around to getting them done now...better late than never I guess

I made the flowers on this one and created the back ground page...was just a Ms white cardstock I crumpled, ripped, stamped and smudged it....lol I love how it turned out....this pix was the girls fooling around with the webcam on my laptop one day...it turned out pretty cool : )

cold and rainy Saturday....

We have had a new addition to our family....he is so little and, and, well my daughter thinks he is cute! his name is Lagarto - it is lizard in spanish. I honesty do not get the gotta have a lizard deal...but she does not get the whole gotta get some new papers deal either!!

He is now one week in our home, we moved him into Ripleys bedroom a couple of days ago....we let him get use to the crazy movement in the house then moved him to her room....Legarto has adjusted pretty well to his new surroundings...he is not going totally crazy trying to get away from her when she reaches into his world - she actualy held him last night which was a little bit of a chase but not to crazy...and he did not try to escape, he just hung out in her hand...she has a way with little critters they are calm when she holds them?? frogs, lizards, hamsters they just don't try to take off....and no it is not cause she Elmyra Duff them lol - I must say as far a pets go he is pretty cool, no really!! I don't have to walk him, I don't have any little bombs sitting in the yard waiting for me to discover, no noise, barking meowing nothing...just sits there looking at you!! no brushing, there are is no one to jump out and scary me at night-my cat!, there is minimal shedding, no fur tumble weeds to pick up...one down side to this little adventure his food is a little on the grose side, but I don't have to deal with that..so its all good and best of all Rip is a happy little camper : )

All and all not a bad little pet!

Scrapfest on Saturday....

rushed out the door at 7am jumped into Norma's truck and off we went - approx 4 hrs later we arrived at Scrapfest...yeah!! We roamed around abit taking in all the goodies. Had a bit of lunch then it was time to get serious and started picking up treasures that we scooped on our rounds.... I got a couple of new dies - spellbinders gears and butterflies and a bunch of odds & ends that you can't find here....that is the best part of going to the show...finding all the fun goodies that you can't find at home.

Maya Road was there and we made a make n take tag, it was quick and fun....we even had some goodies left over to take home....oh! and I won a great little prize - apple chipboard album. Fancy Pants make n take was also fun, we made 2 really cute cards from the "Beach Bum" and "Beach Babe" lines...sooooo cute! I bought a 6x6 mini of paper from the "its all about the little things" line I had a very specific project in mind when I picked it up....and it is almost done, really need it to be done for tomorrow?? don't think I am going to make that deadline...sigh!! I will share when it is finished. We also had Xyron and My Stamp Box at the show and doing make n takes as well - unfortunately we could not line up for all the make n takes or we would not have any time to find our tresures...the make n takes were back to back.....it was awesome - your girls rock

Norma's hubby drove us to Scrapfest and waited in line for us to get tickets for the Maya make n take, wandered around with us for a bit while we shopped...waited patiently for us to finish up our shopping and then took us out for dinner and drove us back home again...so I made this little badge for him....he was the best hubby at Scrapfest!!

I tell ya...totally on a flower trip right now....I think maybe really hoping for spring....thought I would share a couple of close ups of the last few I have been playing with...

these flowers are made using the TH tattered florals die using tulle,organza, book paper, CTMH petal ink, pearl glimmer mist, and some feathers

the daisy is a $$ store flower that I pulled apart and used a couple of layers of petals and I added the pink tulle and the gem in the center, and my attempt at a rolled flower...it is not my favourite I burned my fingers to many times to enjoy it....maybe I should get some of the new glubbers...save my poor little fingers...lol

I have a few more that I am working on as well .... will post them when I have the last couple finished....flowers, flowers, flowers can't seem to get enough of them.

I am totally loving making flowers right now....attached a few of the things I have been working on for the last week....most of the flowers are made with the TH tattered flowers die This layout is for the spring fling class I am holding on Monday, can't wait to share all the fun techniques with the girls - if you have not signed up yet better hurry only 2 spots left

I thought with ScrapFest only a week away, it is time to get my pictures from last year scrapped...lol...one more week and we are off to Kitchener to shop and play....yahoooo!! can't wait got my list and labels all ready to go....hopefully I won't forget them this time

this layout is Taylor playing around on Austins bike last summer...the little banner on her page was the inspiration for the big banner below....I had so much fun playing with it - canvas, paint, stamps and flowers oh!my!.... it is now hanging in the kitchen for all to see....

Happy Spring!!
to celebrate the first day of spring I have designed a layout with lots of fun flowers. Ready to jump out of your box freshen up your approach and try some new techniques, will we be playing with glimmer mists using some basic techniques we will be making our own background page. to jazz it up we will be adding feathers, organza, crepe paper, tulle, vellum, book paper, ribbon and some paint...got add a little bit of Shabby...lol

Also designed a page for a class I have coming up...I'm so excited it is awesome, sort of a mixed media peice - material, paper, ribbon, buttons, crepe paper, all kinds of fun stuff and lots of flowers...unfortunnately I did not get it finished before the sun went down, I like the pictures better when they are taken outside they seem to be blurry when I take them in the house...I need a new camera..lol that may just be an excuse....I will post it later this week
My last class with Michaels is tomorrow.....it is going to be a sad night....I really enjoyed these girls they were alot of fun.

i know i have been very absent as of late....i have been working very hard on a few projects...some secret, some i can share
sad news first : ( i have officially resigned from Michael's and sent my resignation into EK Success today...did enjoy my time with both Ms and EK no complaints really!! i am ready for some new challenges and have a few new prospects in mind....

....onward and upward toward new challenges...yahooo!! i will definitely share if my new prospects pan out : ) cross your fingers for me i am really excited about both of them....hehehe!!

a couple of weekends ago and friend and i did a lss hop....Kingston to Belleville to Trenton and home again, it was awesome we found some cool little items, i was very focused in my search....butterflies, butterflies and more butterflies....lol i purchased a couple of dies 4 of those fluttery little beauties....look how darn cute they are??

i am really close to finishing "baby's first year" i have scrapped as far as i can go....i am hoping this post works, i had an idea to post is all in one pix...hope it works
yeah!! it took a little while to load..the pix are on the small side but it worked yeah!! Blogger and i have a bit of a struggle...it does not always like the way i want to put things and sometimes it has a mind of it own....lol i am sure it is operator error...lol

HAaaalllloooo word art....this is my first attempt at art for my walls....i love it!! compeletely hooked planning a few more little quotes in the girls bedrooms...lol

they are made out of cardstock and stuck to the wall with my tape runner....the moon and stars are cut out of sparkle paper and so are the stars floating down the wall....well anyhoo!! just thought I would share...I have a couple of layouts to share will post if i can get some half decent shots of them?? off to eat dinner

no playing for me today!! I have finally gotten sick of looking at my bathroom and have decided today is the day for paint....i have put it off long enough...I tore it apart at Christmas??? i know crazy time to start a new project right??
but i did do some playing last night...made this cute little banner, the hearts are all cut out with SCAL from http://freesvgfiles.com/ they were 3 different downloads I made the 'Love` svg proportionate to the scalloped heart, I cut every thing out in 2 colours and played till i found a combination that i liked. the dangly hearts are attached to each other with quilters thread and the whole kit and kaboodle is hanging on thin ribbon...should have used thicker ribbon, but did not have anything long enough...darn valentines is Monday wish i would have thought of this last week

off to put the second coat on the bathroom...

Oh!!My!!Gawd!! - little slice of heaven for me....got to see John Cougar in Ottawa Sunday night it was totally AWESOME!! that boy is still rockin ....it was AWESOME!! he sounds AWESOME!! I was totally in heaven for 2 hours....thanks to my darling daughter she gave me the tickets for Christmas....what a doll huh!! it was so AWESOME..have i mentioned that it was totally AWESOME!!

We also got to check out Winterlude .... that was pretty amazing...i have never experienced ice sculptures....i cannot believe the work the artist puts into these scuptures just to watch them melt away....its so sad when you really think about it...hours apon hours to create your master peice to let it melt away before your eyes....sigh!! here are a few of my favs....

it was such a lllooonnggg day and an even llooonnnggeeerr ride home it snowed the whole way home....it was just enough snow to be a pain in the @$$ and when them darn big trucks went by you either got a blizzard or a massive blast of water - the were both horrible as they left you blind for a few seconds...which really feels like minutes....it was a horrible horrible drive....but we made it home safe and sound by 2 am.....couldnt wait to get into my bed

not a real baby...my jeep...sigh!! put her right into the ditch barried her 2 feet deep in the snow...it has just been one of those days!!
after dinner the girls and i rushed out the door for guitar lessons we got about 1/2 way there and i realized darn it i left my cell home...S%^T!! not a good night to leave my cell home we are just on the tail end of a snowstorm.... lessons went fine on our way home some j@ck @$$ forced me off the road, seriously!! he/she would not move over they stayed in the middle of the road...i went over as far as i could and slid right into the ditch... they did not even come back to help???....even in 4x4 i could not get her out... S%^T!! S$^T! S%^T!! the girls of course were not dressed to be out walking in the snow....which i may add that i tell them every time we leave the house...you never know what could happen you may end up having to walk and you need to be prepared?? i tried to dig it out but it did not work...just managed to make myself cold and wet...so off we went in search of a phone we went to 3 homes no one answered their doors...sigh!! i was really cold and wet brrrr!!...gave the girls my mittens and scarf sigh!!... we finally found a fella at the end of the road he was clearing his driveway with a snowblower, he was kind enough to let me use his phone...thanks to the stranger and his wife for the use of the phone and a few minutes of warmth...thank goodness for my DD and her hubby....they came to our rescue and pulled us...yeah!! yahoo!! woot!! wohoo!!
a mug of hot chocolate and warm pj and all is well again....a little excitment at the end of the day...lol

sorry I was sick for the last few days...today is the first day that i was back to me ole self..lol...i have attached a few of the layouts that i have finished just recently....the butterfly and winter wonderland layout were done for Michaeal's they are currently hanging in the classroom.

i also started an art journal in Dec i am hoping to add at least one new item a month... what ever strikes my fancy...my first page i did was how to crochet flowers the other is a mantra for a good life

the rest of the layouts are lastest additions for last years album....

i recently broke a promise to myself never never never to buy a paper stack again...wellll i did and i just love it i used it to produce the layouts above....so glad that i did

sorry pictures are not the best...natural light is so much better to work with so much better than the light in my basement....hmmm! maybe i will start taking them in the morning rather than the middle of the night...that may help improve the quailty

Sorry i know i have been very absent as of late....but i have been so busy creating that i have not had much time of anything else...lets see i finished ny bedroom floor....yaaahooooo!! and i must say it looks absolutely beeeautiful, it is so shiny i love it fell in love with some awesome plaid material at fabricland so made some new curtins for my bathroom, picked out some lovely teal paint then filled all nastly little nooks and cranies that seem to apprear from know where on your walls???? have not painted yet...on the last round of sanding then will be ready to paint...i am a lousy sander and it really shows when you add you first coat of paint....so i am trying to be very careful to make it smmoooooth so it looks awesome when it is finished.
i have also started a sketch club....hanging with the ladies in my space...so glad to have them coming back again...it has been awhile i missed them...and started a calendar club as well this sunday will be our first meeting...can't wait it will be so much fun.....i have completed a ton of layouts as well...well okay not really a ton...but lots....
i have to scoot right now....i took some meds a little while ago and they are starting to kick in time to go lie down...lol

making the banner was truly torture...well!! okay not really!! I tried to make this last month and well my ~mojo~ went down hill last month....considering the lack of ~mojo~ i think it turned out pretty good

i signed up for J/S Inspiration Everywhere class - just wanna say THANKS Jessica....this class could not have come at a better time....I have been working on the classes slowly and they are totally fun....I will be missing the one for the CD/music class, i have an iPOD so don't use CD's oh!! but I could convert it a bit for pictures and send it to my M/L with her Christmas gifts she would probably love it

So I am the worst blogger ever!! but....November was a big bad downer!! and I really did not have much positive or pleasant energy to share, sometimes ya just don't feel like the creative jucies are flowing.

So far this month has been much better, I have made a few choice like em or not that I hope will help to make life a little easier....man - things can get out of control pretty quickly. November has been a time for reflection and decisions. December is going to be relaxation for the last leg of the year.

10 hour skirt.....shoot me!!

my dd decided that she wanted to a be a marionette for Halloween....she got an idea in her head on what she wanted to wear....so weeks ago we started looking......and looking....and looking? we could not find what she wanted.....sigh!! she found the skirt that she wanted to wear on the cover of the book "fallen" the skirt is totally awesome...she made this little discovery on the Wednesday before Halloween?? sssooooo! Thursday off i went to my local fabric store and i found the most awesome material, bought 2 meters, 2 meters of satin(cheap stuff) and piles of tulle
thursday night when i got home from classes at Michaels i started to design the skirt...sign went to bed at 2am.....went to work yawn!! when i got home from work and finished my nasty household chores i started to work on the skirt again yawn...it was 2am before i was off to bed again -ssome one shoot me!! after some adjustments on Saturday and making the top it was all finished...she put it on and was spinning and spinning in circles she was so happy!! that totally made it all worth while....but it was only one night...sigh!!

to my surprise i got home from work and there she was spinning and spinning again saying "check this out it is so awesome.....lol my little princess!

did i mention that i won a prize pack on the bus trip yesterday : ) well it was an awesome little win it is full of all kinds of little treasures...lol there was actually more in the prize pack than i bought...

i went to the show on a mission i was looking for Tim Holtz tattered florals and for BoBunny Midnight Frost... i got the die but did not find the paper pack?? maybe i will find it next weekend at the Creatifestival?? i did find a few really cute stamps from Stampin Kimmie...got a few copics and a small laser cut chipboard calendar from Stamping Bella and some Prima...love love love Prima...and signed up for the new calendar from Scrapbook and Cards today and Pagemaps....i can't wait!!

i have not had a chance to play with my stamps yet.... totally love the die though...I have cut out a ton of flowers...c/s, felt, satin, organza, book paper and chip board that die is totally awesome...now to experiment to find out the best way to color them shape the mount them....heehee! can't wait to play

i'm so pooped- only got 4 hours of sleep last night....so signing off and going to hit the hay

what do you do at 2am when you can't sleep? why you blog of course....lol i have been lying in bed since 11 waiting for slumber to steal away my thoughts...alas! it has not come, no sweet dreams for me tonight??
my head is to full of ideas for classes i want to teach and things i want to make and so on and so on and so on??
i fully blame in on Scrapfest!
Norma and i spent the day on a bus trip to Oshawa to shop!!!....heehee!! the day for me started a 6:45 am the bus ride was a little rocky....rumble rumble went my tummy...once we hit Oshawa all the stop and start motion kills me, i get motion sickness very easily and we sort of did not know where we were suppose to go once we arrived at the college...the event was not posted easily for you to see and not knowing the area our poor bus driver ended up with 15 backseat drivers muttering instructions on where to go and how to get there...felt bad for the poor girl, she was very patient with the mutterings or maybe she did not notice as she was most likely caught up in her own thoughts on how best to proceed. after a little confusion and some direction from the information desk we found out way to the gymnasium where Scrapfest was being held...yeah!!!
it was not what i was expecting?....small...very small i did not actually count the vendors but we seemed to get through them all in a short period of time and there did not seem to be as many people as the last time we attended (April in Kitchener) we had very little trouble getting around in most of the booths and we actually got to make some make'n'takes...wooohooo!! Norma and i have been to a few scrapbook events together and we shop the same...we scope out all the vendors check prices then stop for a bite to eat and then go back through the entire building again and buy up all the items we scooped out on our first pass through at the best prices we could find....haha!! this is not planned behaviour on our part we discovered at our first show together that we shop the same way....both Virgos so we have a few of the same characteristic without even trying....lol actually it is almost scary the way we both think sometimes....we will be checking out one of the booths.... we wander off in our own directions then we will meet up a the cash and we have the exact same items - usually just different colours....like i said a little scary?
the lack of people played to our advantage today in more ways than one...like i mentioned we got to make some make'n'takes at the Scrapbook and Cards booth - they have a great calendar coming soon, keep your eyes on their site for all the deets!! we made a few tags and necklace...it was awesome...we also ran into Vicki a fellow Kingstonian she is so sweet - as always - i even got a hug....heehee!! and i ran into a few of my SDU students that was totally not expected and totally awesome!!! Lisa even hung out with Norma and i for a bit and made the necklace make'n'take with us...if it had been really busy i may not have noticed Lisa or any of the other girls and would not of had the opportunity to chat with them....so all in all it was a great day...small event but when you really think about it - it was totally awesome day?? Oh!! i almost forgot i won an awesome little grab bag from Sweet Sentiments - sponsors of the bus trip thanks ladies!
with that said you would think that i would be sound asleep?? i just get so inspired by all that i see and i end up with so many ideas running around in my head that it is impossible to shut down : ( it has been a long day.... and it is going to be a long day tomorrow if i don't nod off soon...well i better scoot and try to get some zzzzz's it is now 3am

my goodness!!....nasty house work sure can get in the way of all the fun stuff in your life?? we did the roof and new interior door this weekend....whew!! more work than i really wanted to do this weekend...i just wanted to play unfortunately we are in the midst on some minor reno's and we are doing all the work our selves...easier on the ole pocket book
I did manage to finally get my Halloween banner finished....yahooo!!
the inspiration for this banner came from Northridge Publishing - Simply Handmade Sept issue the different size of the background for each letter was
hat drew me to wanna make my own i did really like a couple of the original design ideas and incorporated them into my design....the spider web for the "O" has not been completed - i lost my bag of spiders....lol once i find them there will be spiders crawling all over that webby"O"

i'm pretty happy with the results...it took a long time to make but i had a ton of fun deciding what backgrounds to create and what fun embellies to add to it....i totally love Halloween tomorrow night we will be decorating the house can't wait!! all the ghouls ghosts and creepies will be coming out from under the stairs bwahahahaaa! i will be teaching a class this Sunday on how to make this scary little banner...let me know if you are interested....its not to late to create your own.....see ya at 1 pm Sunday

some days i feel like Alice falling down the rabbit hole..spinning out of controll...only darn it!! i never end up in a crazy land of wonder and amazement....just kaos?? it has been a totally crazy month...Hey!! what the heck happened to September??? i totally did not see if fly by at all...hmmm!! is this an age thing?? should i be worried???

i have been scouting out a few web sites for ideas and Hedi - what can you say about that girl she is just a big bundle of great ideas....i snagged this idea off her site - its soooo cute!!

Hedi has some of the best ideas ever....these are just made out of black c/s and i added a bunch of stuff that was laying around after working on a halloween layout - the cone shape is a 12 inch circle cut on my cricut which i cut in half....then i cut 2 8" circles with my circle cutter i added some little tabs inside the cone and then attached the tabs to the base....easy peasy!! then i embellished and spritzed with graphite glimmer mist after all the embellishments were on for an aged look....i added hot glue strings all over the first little hat to make it look like spider webs, it looks really cool in person....they were so fun to make...thanks Hedi for the fabulous ideas ....http://heidiswapp.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/09/index.html

i tried to find a link to the hats but got lost in all the fun goodies she has posted and did not find the hats sorry... but the idea did come from Hedi you have to check out all fun stuff she has created

i just completed this layout...it was done on cardboard washed with black acrylic paint thined out with water...i added grometts from fabricland to the corners and added wire to hang up....after halloween i will remove the wire and add to my binder.....i finally made a small banner...they are so trendy right now the banner is Ms c/s glimmer misted with pumpkin, lime twist and graphite then cut in random sizes to make the triangles and attached to a piece of jute, papers are Ms sparkly paper the green and the purple are from Ms as well and the pattern paper i will have to check...can't remember....must be an age thing!!

i came home today to the bestest suprise ever!!....one of my very favorite dinners....that i very rarely every eat, it is so darn bad for you : ( fish & chips with coleslaw and my beloved pepsi.....and cake.... wait not just cake? totally awesome fluffy awesome light and chocolaty awesome goodness the best cake ....it is for my birthday!! YeAhhh! one slightly itty bitty little problem?? my birthday is tomorrow....lol OpPsIe!! on my hubbies part....lol he never gets the day right...but it is the effort that counts...and it was a wonderful effort and it was totally awesome lol....so?? wonder whats on the schedule for tomorrow...lol

the flower class was a huge success....we made a ton of flowers and completed a layout...i have posted below ....unfortunately i have not added a picture yet...think i am going to stage one... Little Princess Ruby we be my victim ahmmm!! subject for the layout...lol Nanna will have her next weekend over night Momma & Dadda are off to a wedding....so we will be playing then....heehhee!!

the only thing we did not complete in the class was a title...I sort of left that up to the individual to decide what the title should be....very hard to predetermine that one??

all the flowers are hand made cut from Ms cs, inks used CTMH, papers Wild Asparagus - baby girl line, cotton lace is from Fabric Land, bling is all from the $$ store - gotta love the $$ stores

for Sundays class - Sept 19th we are going to makes some prima knock offs....or something like that - they are not exactly prima's but they will save ya a ton of $$

we are going to take these plain little flowers....

and turn them into these lovely little beauties....

are they not the cutest darn little flowers you have seen??? the largest flower is 2x2 and the smallest is 1x1...we will be making all the flowers you see here and completeing a single page layout to display your beautiful creations....just think beautiful hand made flowers, they will add instant dimension to all your layouts, altered items and your cards and in the perfect shade to complement you creations...and don't even think of giving me any sassy talk about -Oh!! I only have boys!! - do you have a mother? sister? or a bestest friend that you could add to the layout?? or you can make it a layout all about you??

forgot my camera at work today??...i took it with me this morning to get pictures of the girls on their first day of school and well i left it at work?? somedays i tell ya i don't know where my head is?? i will bring it home tomorrow and upload the pictures - it won't be till late tomorrow as the crazy starts right away - as soon as school starts guitar lesson, karate and dance start the same time?? so off we go to guitar tomorrow night....i made a ton of flowers for the layout tonight....can't wait to share i will posted tomorrow night

that makes it official...sigh!!...summer is quickly, way to quickly, coming to an end...sniff sniff

but with that said i have the most awesome and exciting news??? i will offering classes twice a month and i will be starting up a bi-weekly crop - with a small fee of $3 to help offset the cost of bevies and a light snack : ) - trying to watch the figure and all...has to be something healthy or close to it....no chips anyway...i love crops and i totally miss doing them, it forces you to pick a day get all your goodies ready and just sit down and scrap....sometimes you just end up sitting around and talking but that is a good thing to - So starting this Sunday September 12th at 1 to 5 we will be meeting for our first crop-hands in the air and wave like ya just don't care and say "YYyyyaaaahhhHH!!" come on everybody with me now - "YYyyyyaaaaahhhHH!!" okay all the silly is out of my system...for the moment anyway...lol.... it will be so fun to get back to the regular routine of scrapping again ; ) i tend not to scrap in the nice weather...and since i started teaching with SDU i have discovered that i really love teaching want more.....i really missed it :(
i find as soon as the cooler weather hits it totally puts me in the mood for scrapping and the last couple of days was just that...its so weird!! on Friday- i took the day off work and the kids and i were at the beach swimming it was sooooo hot last week??? it was a scorcher...then you wake up Saturday morning BAM!! it was chilly and it was like a hurricane was running through town the wind was crazy... and i think we are to far from the coast to feel the effects of the nasty peice if wind that just blew up the coast - what was it again Whan?? sorry!! i know outta touch...but i have been a buzi little bee plotting and planning all weekend so i did not pay much attention to the news...i don't really watch much TV - i do catch a few shows that i really like on the computer...anyhoo!! that is not really here nor there is it??

i did finally finished my mini album...heeehee!! so excited to share..BUT!!....that will have to wait.... darn it!! - man i totally suck at taking pix of my work - this time some of the pictures are blurry...its very strange because it is the pictures in the layout that are blurry??? how the heck i managed to pull that one off i'm not sure...so i have to take the pictures again, and i prefer natural light to take pictures... less glare on the photos... so it will have to wait til tomorrow....but i can totally share my pix of my scrap space...we are sharing our scrapping spaces at SDU instructors group that i belong to and i took some picture to share with them....and well i can share them with you to - so without further ado My Space - aka: the ScrapPad...heehee!! i luv the name

i'm pretty lucky my space is not huge but it is a great size for me

and i can take over the rest of the basement if needed the lighting leaves something to be desired but we can't have it all right...i have tried to rearrange a few times but it does not seem to provide any more room? any way thought i would share

Ok!! i lied?? i really didn't mean to :( i did not get my mini book finished and i did not post it anyway!!...I have not had time to any to play with it at all and i can't share it in the state it is in...well!! it is not ready for sharing...i have taken it to class but only to share in the experience of my style of a design brief.....seriously - since i started teaching with SDU it has been crazy, well that and the fact that i'm trying to get some renos in the house done as well?? and work has been totally been CrAzzY as well, i have been staying late every night that i am not teaching....what the heck it up with that anyway?? i am not an overtime type of person...i generally prefer free time?? whannnwhannnwhann...okay okay!! i done whining??

I have done 2 squash books in the last week, in one of my SDU classes i had only one student and so the program was tailored to what she wanted to learn....and she wanted to make a squash book - it has been so long...like 3 years or something like that since i made one, so i made one purely for the practice....did not want to get in class and say Ahh!! i don't remember, hang on while i read the instructions??....lol so i made the "new kitty on the block" book and then because i had so much....i made another one while i was teaching...it was great!! this one is for my grandson's very first day at school....soooo hard to believe that he is going to school...godness time flies???

new kitty is b/g's max and whiskers line, the felt shapes are max and whiskers as well(they are so darn cute), some tim holtz distress ink s/u ribbon

school days book papers are from Ms TPC Studio school days line, stickers are from the same line. that apple is plantin cricut with some p/p pixie stix bling on the leaf and stem, the chip board letter is piggy tales with faux stitching added in for some fun, ribbon is from fabric land some tim holtz distress was used on this one to....love the holtz.... Hey does anyone recongnize the apple...come on?? think hard?? you must have seen this little beauty somewhere before?? okay- i'll spill the beans.... it is on the front of the new Scrapbook ETC. this month well Oct actually....lol i just loved it and had to add it to my book I removed the B & C chipboard letters that were there...cause darn that multilayered apple is so perfect....

Gosh!! to have a kittens life, you sleep in the most comfy places and often, you eat almost none stop...and when not involved in one the previous mentioned activities playing - running all over the place, chasing anything that moves, the crazy side ways hilarious hopping thing...lol...now that!that is a SWEET LIFE!!
this is our new little kitty, his name is Squints...when we got him 2 weeks ago he was so tiny but he had the biggest darn eyes....so we called him Squints after the little in the boy from the movie The Sand Lot Squints wore the glasses that made his eyes look huge...lol I thought that name was perfect for this little fella.

He is just so darn cute!!
Well...better get my butt off to bed, family barbeque tomorrow

finished my b/g page...it is my adorable grand-daughter...i was saving this page for her I think this was our June page??? i think? unfortunately the picture is not doing justice to the papers, they are really very pretty - actually it is really fuzzy picture once it is added to my blog I will have to try playing around with it in photoshop - or just take a new photo maybe taking it outside will improve the clarity....hmmm!! lesson learned today, wait till it is not raining outside then take photos in natural light.

i have one more picture to add to my b/g layout for july as well and that one will be complete....yeah baby on a roll....love it!! my SDU class is full steam ahead in Kingston we are 3 class is 3 weweeks into the program and i am having a ton of fun Belleville will be starting up on Aug 19, with 3 students signed up and one who has signed up but not paid for the class yet.... totally hoping she will be joining us....it is so exciting to be teaching again....right now the class is covering mostly just the basics, i am really hoping that we will be able to offer intermediate and advanced classes. i have attaached my board from Belleville finally remembered to take my camera to get some pixs of it.... when i completed the board i did take pictures but they did not turn out?? but it may have been that i was in a huge rush trying to get out the door and not be late for a meeting ... so probably operator error?? not sure what i did but they were super blurry a couple of my banner pix turned out but not the board?? anyway all is well i now have pix to post : )

hoping in the next couple of weeks to get started with regular crop meeting again maybe get it started up for September - fingers crossed....I do after all have the use of the board room at work to make use of : ) figure i should totally take my boss up on the offer to use the space...the price is right : ) i may do a couple of card meetings as well?? will have to see how it goes?? i a ton of ideas rolling around in my head!!

all these ideas are making me tired....better get the old noodle off to bed...lol

i decided about 1/2 way through my work day today....time for some R&R....i have been getting a little frustrated at work the last few days and i really love where i work so....best to take a little step back and take a couple of days off.....plan is some hiking, scrapping....hmm!! more scrapping and well maybe a little more scrapping....lol well i'm sure some snorkeling, swimming and lounging at the beach maybe in order as well....a few picnic lunches may be calling us too....man!! nothing beats hanging at the beach with the kids, some scrapping mags and a nice cold pepsi...OH!! shoot!! did i say pepsi out loud??....shh!! that is totally a no, no....i have been drinking way to much of that nasty stuff....it is so bad for you : ( and i have been trying to stay away from it

i attended my monthly basic grey class - spending a evening with the ladies from Sweet Sentiments is very relaxing....i finally met the co-owner Laura, i have been going there for quite some time a few years now actually and she has never been the one working, but we met up on Tuesday night and she is just as pleasant as her counter part Krista, so much so that we ended up chatting through most of the class, luckily the other ladies did not seem to need to much direction very self sufficient group of gals....i still have not completed the layout but it is on my list of pages to finish this weekend and i will post as soon as i get it done.

she is just so darn cute....i waited yesterday for 3 hours for her to fall asleep so i could rip off all her clothes lay her on her belly and get one of those really baby pix ....i have my B/G layout from last month that would make a totally awesome layout with those pix... but she just would have no part of that...the little bum stayed awake the whole time she was visiting : ( o'well Ruby and i hung out and that was pretty awesome

Super Buzi Week.....

Wow!! this week has just flown by....so crazy!! it all started last Thursday when I - after much consideration/deliberation decided to try to purchase a local scrapbook store, that just went up for sale about 3 weeks ago....oH! mY! I was so excited!! it was very hard to contain myself once i had finally made the decision to go ahead, talked to the lady that has it up for sale, talked to the bank made an appointment for Tuesday....i can't ever in my life remember wishing for a monday to arrive faster?? what the heck is that all about??

Well Sunday morning my daughter calls about 7:30 am "i think i'm in labour?" yahooo!! i have been waiting all summer for this....hehhheeee i'm bursting at the seams....so i calmly answer " call me when you get to the hosptial let me know what they say" in the mean time i'm running around like crazy - shower, dressed and wait patiently for her call, oh! wait camera check!! it was totally amazing - i watched the birth - this is the second one for me as a spectator and it so rocks the second time around as much as the first time....i got some awesome pix ...but i did not take my camera case with me??? not to sure what i was thinking...and my batteries died??? man i was bummed....i did get some awesome pix but i missed out on a ton of them 2....anyway here is our beatiful little Ruby - she is pretty fresh her and none to pleased with the light and a pic with her pretty proud big brother Austin, I think he was expecting her to be bigger like playmate size....lol

Monday i had my first class teaching SDU at Michaels...it was so much fun...to my surprise another lady signed up...so i had 2 students....it was so much fun i cannot wait till my next class - man there i go again wishing for a monday??? lol

Tuesday finally arrived, lady from the store dropped off all the goodies that the bank asked for and i was so excited - when i got there things did not go well and it was decided in the end that i should go back to my orignal plan of doing a 3 phase plan of opening my own store - i was so bummed out but the bank advisor was right this was not the best time for me to be taking this step....and ya have to sort of respect the input as this is what they do for a living so they know what they are talking about.....i felt so bad like someone punched me really hard in the stomach....i did get a second opinion anyway and they sort of had the same response?? so i had to break the news to Jan....that was very hard ; ( it was i'm sure just as much a disapointment for her as it was for me ; (

Wednesday was a little bit better my son turned 19 W0w!! i'm not really sure where the time goes...but it sure has a way of passing ya by?? we had the most awesome tasting chocolate mouse cake that i have ever tasted....if heaven had a taste i bet it would taste like this cake.....mmmmm!! so yummmmyy ; d

Thursay I have sort gotten over the disappointment and the shock of not have my own store or on the way to having my own store.....but bright light at the end of the tunnel my current boss - i talked to him about the purchase as he is a small business owner and he is not wanting me to leave my position which totally makes you feel gggreat!! and he has offered to let me use the board room after hours for scrapbook classes - how awesome is that? best part for freeeeee?? gotta love it : )

Anyhoo i better get my butt off to bed it is 1:30...eeekk!!

SDU Class Board

YaHoO!! got both my boards done for the SDU - Michael's classes they are in place, my banners are posted in the isles of the scrapbook supplies, my info has been added to the binders, my attendance sheets have been printed and are in there respective folders all is in place and I'm ready to rock and roll....WoHoO!! bring on the students....lol
I have not had any sign-ups yet...but it is summer time and really most people are out making memories that they will scrap through the nasty winter months...
I'm totally a summer person, I write this as I'm sitting on my deck listening to kids playing in the park, the hum of neighbour mowing his lawn and the brief chirp of a bird that has not been drowned out by the lawnmower...lol OMG!! I do love the sounds of summer ; )

one of my boards is posted below, the other board it different unfortunately the picture has a nasty smudge right through the center of it??...I suspect sunscreen on the lens was the culprit that caused the nasty blur. I will have to get a picture of that one next time I'm in Belleville, and darn I cannot find the picture of the banners that I made?? not to sure where that went?? hmmm! guess I will have to get a picture of those as well, cause they turned out so darn cute.

I'm working on a mini book right now...the front and back are made from pieces of a cardboard box and the pages are made from folders...lol and no it is not another art journal..which i have by the way not even tried one new technique in it?? i have totally jumped out of my comfort zone with this mini album I will post it when it is finished.

I have been working very hard the last few weeks....I have become a Certifed Instructor with EK Sucess....yahoooo!!! I will be teaching SDU at 2 Michaels locations - what is SDU you ask... Scrapbook Design & U it is a 4 week program - 2hour classes once a week - the program is geared toward all levels of scrapper. I have been scrapping for close to 6 years and there were some things in the program that made me say Ahhh! wow! the biggest eye opener for me was the colour theory. The program teaches design techniques, colour theory, ideas for journalling and tips for carring for punches and tools and more. I think it would be a great refresher class for people who have been scrapping for a long time.
The only down side to this whole new little adventure is that I will have to give up my Basic Grey class. I have decided to teach 2 programs per week so it will interfere with my class...hmmm!! bummer, bonus I will still get my kit every month, downside-I won't get to scrap with the ladies...sign!! Speaking of which, posted below is my double layout for this month. I changed it alittle from the original layout - I change the paper strips, I folded them to give them alittle more texture and I tore and rolled the pink layer in a few places. I love it. it has a shabby chic feel to it..now I just need to find some great pix to add to it

I have also in all the excitement of the SDU program I have been trying to refinish the floors in my daugthers room, we have parquet floors through the main floor of our house and they are tired, so I decided to refinish them, Taylors room was the first to be done, pic is posted below it turned out so shiny....I cant wait to get the rest of the floors finished now...first I need to finish the room I guess we have new paint and baseboards to install, the room has a -wait for it--- a shabby chic theme...Im digging Shabby Chic at the moment...lol

Oh!! MY Gosh!! I started this and totally forgot to post it...lol that is pretty sad...tada my BG page from last month, and sadly I still have not added my pictures to this page yet...some time things are just way to busy...sigh!!

I'm on my third month with the basic grey monthly class I joined and am totally in llluv with the papers, stickers and embellishements they totally rock, I have posted the layouts - as you can see I have not completed the layout for May - I will be working on it this weekend still have not decided what photos I want to add?? it will come to me.

glimmer mist class

I took a glimmer mist class on Thursday at my lss, it was so fun. I knew a few of the ladys from a SU card class that we had taken together. It is always nice to know someone when you go to a class. The layout we created was a complete surprise for me as I did not have time to get back to the store after I signed up for the class to see a sample. I have it posted below. It turned out to be the most perfect layout for me. We took a trip to Nova Scotia last summer to see some of our family and I was sort of stuck on what to do with the pictures. Well this layout worked out just perfectly for me. I have now come up with a few more ideas to complete a few more layouts from our trip, we got some awesome pictures of sunset, sunrise and great pics of the fog in Quebec, they turned out so good - which was totally a fluke?? I am not a great camera person, but I love to take pictures, one of these days I may invest in a nice camera and take some lessons to...lol
I am having the worst moment right now...I can not get my pictures to load...grrrrr!!
okay I will be back to try later to try to post and if that does not work .... well!! I will just try to post tomorrow.....darn it!! harrmph??

Haaahaaa!!! nananana I got it to work....lol there is suppose to be a quote in the white space, but the girl that taught the class forgot to bring it....lol sometimes no matter how hard you try to be organized - it just sometimes it is not in the cards. I think the layout is totally awesome, it is a double layout I have not printed the second page yet....it is a 12x12 - it is the old coal peir at the beach in Nova Scotia I have to pick it up tomorrow from Costco so I will post when it is done

I took an extra day off this weeekend...that gave me an extra long week-end...I have tried to take full advantage of it. I cleaned up most of my little gardens - the West Garden...lol as I like to call it... is almost finished, just need a little table. I think it is so cute, it has taken 4 years to get it to this point....only because I did not like the first design and re-did the whole garden last year. I'm liking it much better this year....lol I think a garden is never truly finished.

Working on my gardens took up most of my days during the weekend but the evenings were saved for playing in my scraproom...lol I had a ton of fun. I finished a few layouts that have been sitting on my table for a few weeks. I also created a new mini album and finished my art journal, I still have not had a chance to get an art added to it

Hey all...
I have been so busy the last couple of weeks playing with some new ideas for the store, bookmarks, tags and this cute little easel – had some much fun with the first one, I went to buy 3 more to play with. lol I’m pretty lucky all the cards that I make go to a small gift shop on the Island, I don’t make a ton of money but, it is fun to know that someone out there is receiving one of my cards as part of a gift or just a friendly hello from a friend...it’s pretty cool!!
The inks used to create tags and bookmarks are CMTH – they are made with folders glued back to back for strength, they were pretty flimsy. I added some sewing to as well to insure they would not come apart when used. I did test the bookmarks before sending them to the store. I gave both of my girls a new book and a bookmark for Easter. I checked the bookmarks a few times to see how they stood up to use before I decided to send them to the gift shop. I added the sewing as a precaution.
I also competed my Art Journal...I fully intend to start adding some test subjects to it this weekend...lol Teaching some friends how to make it next Saturday....should be a ton of fun we have not been together since I stopped my monthly scrap meeting....sniff sniff I miss us getting together.
It was made with box board(Costco cereal box) folders, Ms 1/8” ribbon, CTMH paper, c/s, ink, $$ store bling. All the flowers were made with SCAL and SVG designs from 3D flowers pt 1 & pt 2 it is a great little site they have a ton of free goodies and the designs are reasonably priced you can check them out here http://www.svgcuts.com/ they are so great - if you have any problems they are very quick to lend a hand, even if you totally mess up your downloads. They have a bunch of tutorils as well...great site.

heehee! okay well not that many, I posted 7 tags only posted my favorites ; )

OhMy!! the last couple of weeks have been so CrAzY?? in all the running around to guitar lessons, dance lessons, karate and the rest of the goodies that manage to get mixed into your evenings ...I have been lucky enough to have no plans for the last few weekends?? how does that happen you ask?? I did not make any plans- thought we needed a break it has been great. Lots of playing late and sleeping late, it has been great very refreshing and much needed. Even the kids are enj oying the break. Playing around with glimmer mist last month started me trying to think outside of the box - that little mini album really got the juices flowing. I have discovered the fun you can have with an old file folder....heehee!! I have attached some of my favorite tags that I have been playing with, they are all made with old file folders, glimmer mist, glimmer screens, CTMH inks, stamps and various bit & pieces that I found in my stash and a little H2O. Let me know what you think!!...

OH !! MY !! GAWD !!
I had to take my printer back today?? it was just becoming to frustrating trying to use it?? Ripley was trying to print some pages for a project that she is working...it took 20 minutes to get it to print??? we keep getting error messages - print cartridge not compatible or paper jam??? I don't even know how many times i turned that damn printer on and off and unplugged it. But we did get all the pictures printed. Friday the same deal trying to print a picture first it would not print from the laptop at all just did not see the printer at all?? Then I tried it from the desk top after several attempts - success!! Finally i got fed up and took it back today - I cannot not even begin to convey the frustration with the staff at Staples - explained that I would like to have a replacement to the cashier she takes my replacement warranty and receipt and says "do you know who sold this to you??" I said no?? "Well they sold you the wrong plan!!" Oh!! well I don't care really the printer has not worked properly since the day I took it home and if you look at the receipt I have only had the printer since March 10, 2010 - she pages someone from computers "what is the problem?? explained to her the problem that we have been having...".so did you check for a paper jam??" (Duh!! no did not occur to me!!) explained that I had check every possible opening never found a paper jam?? Well did you check the cartridge?? is it a Kodak cartridge?? - it is the cartridge that came with the printer I said also if you check the receipt I bought replacement ink the same day. she then paged the computer dept again and proceed to wait on other customers....after 10 minutes she tried to page the computer dept yet again?? a few minutes later the manager came around the cash with another customer and the manager and cashier dealt with that customer and then the cashier explains to the manager that I have the wrong replacement warranty. The manager takes my receipt holds it about one inch from her face (obvious denial - buy a pair of glasses lady) and she says "yup!! wrong replacement plan, but don't worry we will fix you up!!" Oh!! goodie!!-can't wait. She leaves and comes back 5 minutes later with another customer>?? "What the @%#!- did you forget about me!??" She starts discussing a chair with the new customer and the cashier?? After a few minutes the cashier rings the guy through. The manager tells me not to worry about the price difference in the warranty plan that she will get it all fixed up for me, the price difference is $10 - I look at her and said it was not my mistake and I'm not paying another $10 for your employees mistake ?? She says in a very patronizing voice "well you should have paid more based on the printer cost of $149" I was like lady I only paid $99.95 for that printer, so I'm guessing that I have now paid the correct amount for the warranty plan. She just smiled - I went home with my new printer.....But - our story does not end on a happy note?? Oh no not there Oh!! No!! there is more in store for our lovely little lady in distress ?? I get home put the computer down stairs and decide that i need lunch. I will deal with the printer later!! Bread hmmm!! grill cheese sandwich - yeah!! sounds good.... open the drawer to get the bread and to my complete surprise 2 bowls tumble out of the drain board off the counter and smash on the floor??? at my feet?? Man!! really can it get any worse?? Clean the mess eat my lunch and saunter downstairs to attack the printer!! Figure my best bet is to just uninstall the other software and start fresh, the cosmos are so apparently not lined up for me today..... so I struggle with the monster of a printer trying desperately to get it out of the box Wheww!! wipe the sweat from my brow and in no time at all I get the printer all ready to go..... following all the instructions and-tada!! all is good in printer land ....yeah me!! One hill conquered...so head off to the laptop - first uninstall everything - including my old epson that i forgot to take out....slap in the new software disc and surprise!! surprise!! .... error can't read the disc??? man!!...so totally not in the mood for this #%$&.... head to website and install from the site....all is well test works out just fine....no clunking noise pretty quite test print....yeah me!! Hill 2 -conquered!! - feeling pretty darn good about Hill 3... Head over the to Hill 3- desk top.... push on button-shut her down last night for Earth Hour and OH!! SHIT!! it won't turn on>> oh!! no!!push button again...nothing try still again thinking- ah!! you didn't push it right?? no still nothing?? So I did the only thing i could think of- I took the cover off?? - really not sure why?? not like I know what I'm doing - it is the car theory - you know that one!! have problem with your - does not matter who you are - first thing you do is pop the hood and check to see what the problem is - 9xs out of 10 you have no clue what you are doing - its not like a big neon sign is going to pop out of your intake valve and say Hey buddy the problem is in your battery - get a new one??? so you scratch your head and think about what you next move should be?? so why did i take the cover off my computer - the proverbial scratch of the head was totally necessary for this particular problem......man I need a drink or 2.
ah!! just thought I would vent a little....lol bet you are thinking hey!! I wanna grilled cheese sandwich....hahhaaahaa!!

or something like that...i'm not to sure what the official name of the group is... i joined over a month ago...anyway...we meet once a month and work on a double layout with B/G products....well let me just say it was a ton of fun...i was sort of nervous at first...eekkk!! going by myself i won't know anyONE?? but it was fine...{for goodness sakes you are with a bunch of women that love the same basic thing you are loving...how could you not get along} lol ....the ladies all seemed very nice and all very very chatty which was wonderful you get comfortable very quickly when people are chatty....i think my middle name should have been "chatty"....cause let me tell ya some days i just don't know when to stop yacking....lol or sidetrack!! thought i'd post my layout for you..i did not take any pictures with me when i went ...when the sample layout was sent - it looked sorta nasty....i looked at the layout and paper and "YuCk!!" my first thought was great i have always loved B/G product and now that i'm committed for a full year to this club they are going to fall apart on me...seriously???...lol so needless to say i was really unsure about what i had gotten myself into...but as you can see from my layout( or maybe you can't??) the product was very typical B/G and it was luv at first sight....lol hopefully it shows up nicely in my pictures.
NoPe!! my picture really does not do anything for the layout either ...but take it from me the papers are beautiful...as always with B/G they are one of my all time favorites
just wanted to send a great big thanks to the ladies at sweet sentiments it was a wonderful first class....can't wait for the next class

okay so like a year ago i went to the creative festival in Toronto and saw a demo for a fairly new product - i'm really not sure at that point how new Tattered Angels were? any way is was a demo for "Glimmer Mist" - my first reaction was " its nice but way to messy for me??" - "Darn girl what in blue blazes were you thinking??" anyway... well couple of weeks ago i had an ad from scrapbook trends pop in to my mailbox and they had this really cute kit they were pushing ... so ... i go check it out and long story short... got the kit totally love the kit full of all kinds of little goodies and not the things that i would normally use for scrapbooking - so opened several new doors for me - although it is so totally MeSsY.... man!! creating that book was the most fun that i can remember with scrapping in a long time....the only down fall to the kit - you don't get nearly enough mist to play with?? that was totally bummer!!...but that was truly the only disappoint that i had - the glimmer mist experience was totally fun i even signed up for a misting class at my LSS and i would totally recommend to everyone get a kit and give it a try you will not be disappointed i have attached a few pix from the book

i used a bunch of the products from the kit - except i was running low on mist i purchased a 2oz bottle of pink lemonade & pearl... i also added one butterfly and ripped a piece off of a card to add to the book(new idea from the kit!!) an image

that i found in a book and i used a CTMH stamp & ink....

well okay then!! i will have to add the other images in another post this one will not let me add any more??

Blue Rodeo

Hubby and i went to see a Blue Rodeo concert last Saturday - wait no it was the Saturday before?? it was totally awesome ....Wow!! 15 days have gone past since the last time i checked in...that is totally hard to believe...i have no idea where the time has gone it is jusssst crazzzy i tell ya .... i guess what they say is true as you get older time passes more switftly ?? sure has been whizzing by me lately !! maybe i'm having way more fun that i realize...lol you know time flies when your having fun....bwahahaha!!!

anyway to get back on track they totally rocked the house...i was so glad we went to see them we had awesome seats...the bestest part it was a freebie tickets were given to us to at 5;30 Saturday night and we left for the concert at 6;30 talk about spur of the moment....so glad we went they played the new album and a ton of the old stuff....they were fabulous

no scrapping for me i put the scrapbooks away this weekend...i was starting to feel a block coming on - which would totally makes sense i have completed 16 layouts in February...let me just say WoW!! yup 16 layouts....i usually only work on scrapping my on the weekends so when i looked back at all the layouts i have completed i was totally amazed...so it made perfect sense that i was not compeletly in the mood to scrapbook this weekend....but it gave me a chance to work on some awesome card sketches....hey!! have i mentioned that i totally love sketches
first sketch was completed tonight....found that little beauty on pagemaps

i was introduced to digi scrapping a few years ago...but!! it just never really worked out for me...i just love feeling of playing with paper, embellishments and all the goodies that go with traditional scrapping....
i was recently reintroduced to digi scrapping and well there are some really beautiful paper packs and embellishments that have become available....i have discovered that there is a real advantage to digi scrapping that you don't have with traditional....no mess to clean up...yahooo!! ya gotta love that.... it can go with you anywhere and every you go...well as long as you have a laptop and that is a huge bonus when you spend a lot of time running kidlets to guitar lessons, karate and dance.... all you really need to produce some really great layouts is a computer some paper packs....there are some great sites that offer free downloads....costco prints a 12x12 print at good price with a couple of different finishes -glossy and matte...and of course a great program to work with...photoshop is my poison...lol...not sure if they are the only program....really new to the digi world....i started my intro into digi scrapping with a calendar for my desk at work i have a 6x6 stand up scrapbook from Close to my Heart i gathered some free scrapping papers and embellishments and bought a calendar page set from jessica sprague - she has some wonderful tutorials at http://www.jessicasprague.com/ i started to play around with a few of her tutorials a hybrid and full digi they were so easy to use i really enjoyed working with them .....guess you could say that really encouraged me to take on a bigger project of my own....lol i have completed 4 months od my calendar so far and it has been so fun and easy to complete them... they have all been done while waiting for the girls at the various after school programs during the week....i don't think i will ever go full out digital i still love traditional scrapping to much to give it up completely it is like therapy....

yoga class

Wwooo!! its friday??...i can't believe it!!....it feels like it was just yesterday that i was heading off to yoga....the class was just awesome...i totally sweat my butt off....my hands kept slipping on my mat..lol...can't say that i ever had that happen...my bottom was so sore the next day and my tummy too...lol felt great though can't wait to go again on sunday...unfortunately that will be the only day of the week that i will be able to attend....but!!
i do practice on my own usually 3 to 4 days a week during my lunch hour...i sit at desk all day so eating my lunch while working is not a problem...and my boss (lucky me) allows me use one for the empty offices...really hoping to inherit thay office...wink wink fingers crossed...then i will be able to continue doing yoga during my lunch and i will not have to worry about losing my yoga space

the yoga that i have been practising on my own at home/work...sort of on my own is a TV show called Namasate Yoga it is a creation of kate potter http://www.katepotteryoga.ca ( she is totally mesmerising to watch - you can find the cat series and a few other of her series posted on her web site) Namasate Yoga is the same sort of flow into different yoga poses and to watch the girls on the show is just so amazing....they are in perfect time with each other it is more like a dance than yoga totally amazing.... i received the season 1 set as a gift and i will be purchasing season 2 as soon as i complete season 1.... i found some bloopers from the tv show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMs7e9dD324 they are great...i wont feel so bad now when i goof up....lol shhhh!! it happens a little more often than i would like to admit...
i will have some pix to post maybe tomorrow i have been scrapping like a mad women the last couple of weekends just need to finish them off and will post them...i have been keeping up with my resolution the weekly planner has worked out just great...anyhoo off to do some yoga before bed

i'm off to my first yoga class...i have not been to yoga in a few years mostly because i broke my tailbone...but that has been remove and i can almost sit comfortably in boat pose...4 weeks ago started into yoga again...i have been doing it myself for the last 4 weeks...don't know if you remember my goal to do "crane pose" well i'm back at it and hopeful...i have been doing "namastay style yoga...i got the videos online she is a home girl(canadian) so i thought i would try them out...she is awesome...i will add her link later....well off i go....let you know how the class is.....wish me flexibility....lol

i got all my projects finished...well... okay!!...almost some i just
gave up on all together....you have to know when to say when and it was time to say when.....lol
i did finally get the rug that i had been crocheting for 2 years ... well!!....almost 2 years finished....yah!! i was so glad to get that finished....don't know why it took so long to get it done once i set my mind to getting it finished it only took 2 evenings and it was complete....even had a kitty stretched out on it within minutes of laying it on the floor...lol.....guess it was taking to long and i got bored... personally i love instant gratification...you can't beat i it... the wonderful feeling of completing something is just great its awsome
i scrapped like crazy this weekend...managed 2 layouts: 1 double layout and 2 singles and i even had time to make a card....i really wanted to get back at it tonight .... strike while the moment is hot....but i had my first quilting meeting tonight...i have never taken a formal class for quilting and i was pretty excited about it....we have a few projects planned for the next few months....this is the first group meeting for our little club....we are starting out with pretty basic project we are making a bag....i will post it when it is finished tonight was just a meet and greet....i'm so excited i can't wait to get started on a project
anyhoo better scoot time to hit the hay.....

still working on my resolutions....ya me!!

part one - get weekly planner and use it, so far all is well with using the weekly planner i have remembered to mark every thing down and open it every day to make sure I compelete the tasks of the day....speaking of which i got another Birthday card completed this weekend to send to a friend of mine

this weekend I finished my quilted laptop bag ....if did not turn out exactly as it was in my head....but hopefully it will help prevent any more scratches on my laptop and help to lessen some of the bumps it has to endure while in my clumsy hands....i dropped it the other day....oh!! i near came unglued i was afraid to turn it on- in case it did not turn on....but no problems with it....what a relief not sure what i would do with out my laptop....funny how you can become so dependant on a laptop.

also started to work on a rug that i have been working on for about 2 years now....i don't have that much more to do if i keep with it i should be able to get it done by next weekend...it is a crochet rug in variegated blue, cream tan and brown, it was meant to go in the bathroom but when it is finished it will find a home in my bedroom

i have not created my resolutions page yet....still trying to decide which photo to use.....i found an awesome page online and darn it i forget to bookmark that page...i have finished some other pages that i was working on and reworked a couple of digital pages that i have been working on for my calendar .....i'm having a bit of trouble getting the sizing right when printing??? hmmmm!!! weirdly enough my printer died this weekend ....what a bummer !!

-12 and it is a beautiful night!!....who else but a canadian would say something like that....lol
I went for a walk and had the most inspiring moment....i was walking along enjoying the crunch of the snow under my feet.. i could hear someone coming up behind me pretty quickly....first thought was jogger??? out now??.....sure enough they went by me at a pretty quick pace....i was thinking gosh wish i had the dedication to do that ..... tried jogging one summer but i never got past the hard panting stage!!! try as i might it just did not happen for me??? -- then next thing i know the jogger is coming again, must have turned at the lights and started heading back....as this person got closer i realized it was a woman and she was older than me??? darn she was keeping a good pace and not even panting??? how the heck do you guys do that??? i was in awe!!
new year and a new start!!

no more procrastination.....i have started off well....got a weekly
planner and i have all the family birthdays listed....
my nephew's b-dayis this weekend, i have made and sent
the first b-day card of the year.....he should get it on time....
ya for me!!! a step in the right direction

i can't believe how long it has been since i last checked in .... it has been more than a month....i guess it was a very busy month ...WOW!! not sure where June went??

i have been on 2 little camping excursions since the last time i checked in....one trip was to Ferris Provincial Park .... we had so much fun.... and this is the where the - you will never guess what happened to me? - part comes in - i fell in the river - with my camera in my hand....YUP!! with camera in hand....i could have cried....Hmmmph!!pout!!... i pulled the m-card and batteries out and dried off everything as quickly as possible i left my camera to dry in the sun for about 8hrs....it sort of seems to be okay.....but...always an exception-hey?? - my lens will not move....such a bummer!! i have not forced it and i have not had a chance to get it to the repair fella down the road yet...
i did stop by today but he was closed already...darn him closed at 5.....fingers crossed hopping that my lens just needs a good cleaning

i was so busy in June that i fell -totally fell off the wagon again for June....my New Year's resolution was that i was going to set new goals every month and scrap them...and well i had none for May....shame on me ttsk ttsk....i think that maybe my goal for July should be trying to better organize my time....

i had very little time in June for scrapping, stamping or any other creative little tidbits....i did manage to start a few projects.....but they are sitting in front of me right now in begging to be finished mode....i guess June is a busy month for everyone...

goal for July organize my time better so i can finish the projects that i have not finished

Junes unfinshied projects are first on my list of things to get finished... the goal is to get back on track with Yoga to.....i have my laptop back now, it was gone for a little while .... needed a bit of a tune-up i was soooo glad to have my little baby back .... now it is time to get back to the grind with exercise....starting tonight : )

i did managed to finish off a little card ... and i'm not telling how long it took to get to this finished ....lol

this little cutie is a "Bella" is she not the cutest little thing ever - her name is Miss Match and she is feeling Groovy....she is just so darn cute...this card is done with Close to my Heart papers and water colour pencils......lol

well enough blah blah blah for today.....have to stick to my goal and get my butt off to exercise....best not to put it off any longer.....lol

yahoo!! went to see my Doc today and according to him i can go back to my regular activities....well i can start slowly to work back into my regular activities- with limited sitting...cause that is still a pain it the bee-hind...this such great news....i went for a long walk tonight which i have not done since the operation....i can't wait to get back into to yoga i really miss yoga...one of my resolutions was to try and get in 3-4 nights a week of yoga....i was starting to get into a nice little groove...my goal is to properly execute the crane pose...love to be as fit as the lovely lady showing us the crane pose....lol but i am a very long way from this.... always good to have a goal...right?....i started Namasate yoga in March the show is on TV but i luckily have season one on disc and the sequences are wonderful they seems to flow so artistically into one another it is like watching flowing art....i was mesmerised the first time i sat through the show....the girls are wonderful and they make it look so easy....so in March i faithfully started to learn the sequences and up until the day of my operation i was practising 3-4 times a week..i have been practising episodes 1, 2. 3...not to sure of the names...i alternate nights.....if you are interested you can check out some snippets of the sequences here http://fittv.discovery.com/fansites/namaste/meaning.html

i have always in the past spent this weekend....the whole darn weekend playing around in my garden....not this year : ( not this year : ( don't know if any of you recall...but last year on this very weekend i fell down my basement stairs and hurt my arse end...actually i broke my tailbone...but... i did not find out that i broke my tailbone until much later it was october when i finally went to see my doctor ... and on my behalf i did not have it checked as there was very little swelling and no bruising at all in the area?? but the pain was persistant....so when the pain had not subsided in that area i decided that i better have it looked at...low and behold it was broken?? after a very long wait and several appointments to see a specialist, it was decided to remove the tailbone...eeekkk!!! sounds just horrible, but i deicded that if that took care of the constant pain in the arse end then i would do....OHH!! butt(lol) wait?? there was a downside?? the procedure unfortunately does not come with a garentte that the removal will take care of the pain, as the pain may be nerve damage, musle damage or bone damage or any combination of the said damages??? i bit the bullet and last Thursday i had my tail remove....whew!!
the worst part of the whole darn proceedure has been the anesthetic...the after effects were downright horrible, i think i suffered all the evils of the milder side effects....yuck!! glad that only lasted one day....the pain from the removal of my tail has been suprisingly not so bad?? i have taken only one actual pain killer-don't even get me started on the side effects of those puppies...i have used tylenol and advil and well its not so bad a little worse than what I have been living with....i'm just a little slower getting around than usual and sitting is a little crampy on the cheeks, butt(lol) other than that....it is not so bad...i''m really hoping that all will be well once my recovery is complete....and i have no real guide line for that as they said everyone is different ??

well me butt is getting crampy...so time to get up and get moving

National Scrapbooking Day!!!

Wow!!! weekend is here again??? i don't know where the heck the days are going...they seem to be just flying by .... that just figures as soon as the nice weather hits life gets way to busy.....we went to the creativfestival last weekend...it was okay not enough scrapbook/stamping stuff...hmmm!! my own fault should have gone to the show in Kitchener the weekend before....we did visit Bella land while in toronto and i got some lovely beauties...picked up 3 new kettos some baubles, water crayons..Oh..oh!! and i found a embossing mat to use with my nesties...i have not had a chance to play yet my new goodies yet...but i will today...it is NSD ahhaa!! i have plans to scrap for most of the day and evening with a friend i have a minibook planned-well sort of- have the papers picked out at this point...plans are to show the ladies how to make it on my next club night... i'll post when finished

i made up a bunch of thank-you cards for my mom she requested 30 cards so i did four different styles....the entire card is made with CTMH products and the sketch i used was from mojomonday Oh ! wait the ribbon is from Stamping Up

this has been one lllloonnnggg week....whew!! glad to have it behind me.... tomorrow i'm heading to T.O. with a friend for the Creative Festival http://www.creativfestival.ca/ i can't wait to see the goodies...we are also planning a trip to see Stamping Bella http://www.stampingbella.com/ can't go to Toronto and not head over to Bella?? i'm so excited i have all my lovelys picked out already...i scoured the website the other night....lol...mind you the last time i went to Bella i totally changed my mind ...there is so much to see oh!! gawd!! i can't wait....

i wish i was in bed snoring....lol!! sorry could not resist seems like it has been raining for days.... the boots were actually part of a Screech-In Ceremony

i had a very proud moment last week....on April 15th i was screeched-in with several friends ...we are now adopted Newf"ndlanders ....Ya!! Ladies!! .....we completed all the required tasks....including kissing the mouth of a fish ( fortunately not a Cod- could not get one-we used a mackerel instead) it was so much fun...well!! not the kissing the fish part- eekk!! totally could have lived without that part of the ceremony....Oi!! he was a very smelly little guy....but on the flip side i'm so happy we went with the fish...the alternative was to kissing the arse of a puffin-gag..gag bring on the fish....lol

we finished up the cermony in Newfanese-we has alot of help in that area....what a hoot!!

i'm honored to be a Newf"ndlander - Bluenoser - Torontonian....what a mouthful...lol

i recently changed internet providers and i was having a very hard time getting my wireless service working on my laptop...and..i discovered that i'm totally lost without my laptop and all of my goodies that are stored there...it is hard to believe how you come to depend so compeletely on your gagets and gizmo's .....i have a few things to post... i finally got my resolution pages photographed..i have posted them here one is for January and the other for Februarys resolutions...i did not realize how hard it was going to be to get myself into a healthier state...better eating and exercise...i had to extend my January resolution to February.....i think i have a handle on it now...March was spent learning a new Yoga program and i am loving it...
i have been a buzi little Bee over the last couple of weeks....i have completed another one of my resolution pages for march...i will have to past that one another day....i have made and sent out my Easter cards...they turned out really cute... i do have pictures .... but i cleaned up my scrap'n space and now i can't find anything including my cord for my camera...D'oh!!...so i can't load any new pictures on to my laptop....i should have left my kaos alone....i do not misplace nearly as many items when my space is in kaos....lol oh!!K!! who am i trying to kid....i misplace things all the time...
i made this little bella beauty a couple of weeks ago....i thought this card fit perfectly into my blog today as the sentiment says "knit happens" the problems with my wireless connection and my missing dodads...it is just perfect for this moment....well time to scoot off to bed....back to chat soon....

i'm really not sure where the week got to....it was Sunday afternoon and next thing i know here it is Friday night?? and i not sad to see it go! it has not been the greatest week i really glad it is done and over with.....have you ever had a week where just nothing seems to be working in your favour??? and everything just seems off or out of whack? that was this week for me...i can't even put my finger on what the problem was exactly other than i was irritated by almost everyone and everything??? it was just the weirdest thing??? i sort of started to sort of feel back to "normal" ...lol - that kills me...lol ya back to "normal" whatever that means?? last night and slowly today everything was sort of back in rhythm??? it was just one of those strange things...maybe i'm lacking something in my diet?? anyhoo I did not get a chance to post my layouts sorry i have not even taken the pictures of them yet...i will try to get them posted this weekend...promise ; )
The girls and i did manage to whip this together tonight...they are headed off to a PJ party for a friends birthday....the girls worked on the card together and me and my loverly little cricut made the popcorn bucket for the little (stuffed) hedgehog....it is rather hard to tell what you are looking at with the huge mess on my table...sorry about that should have tidy up a little...but we were rushing to get it finished so they could get going....darn i really need to take a class on photography...blech!!

We checked out a few scrapbook stores, will not mention any names as i'm not really sure how these ladies stay in business....neither of them were very welcoming?? my sister and i still made purchases at both locations....i usually browse for different items that i can't get at home...anyhoo!! hardly matters now!! i know now not venture back to those locations...we missed a couple of spots that i wanted to check out but we got stuck in traffic twice and so we made a detour to Ikea instead...i have never been to Ikea so i was in total awe...it was amazing i wanted to buy everything...but i ended up with a lazy susan and 2 awsome smelling candles....

Saturday night we went bowling....i totally suck!! i know what you are thinking and yes!! i do suck...my highest score for the evening was 34 : ( we still had a ton of fun...

Sunday we went to BELLA i was so excited... i waited all weekend to get my butt over there...but i was sort of bummed when i got there...the stamps that i wanted sold out on Saturday!!..man!! just my luck...Em just previewed them on Friday....i was after the new Ketto line...they are just so darn cute...man!! i knew that i should have went on Saturday .... it was slim pickins for the Ketto but i did manage get my hands on a few the new additions to my Bella babes is Anges, Suzette, Calliope and LuLu they all are so cute
i did this card for the challenge on Friday but i could not find a button that suited the card so i added the flowers and did not submit... this is Suzette Ketto is she not the most adorable little gal ever....
anyhoo off to see if i can get my hands on some gamsol....i have been using baby oil ...Ehh! not liking the effects to much...i will add my resolution layouts later today.... ciao Bella's

got another lovely little bella to post..have i mentioned they are my favz....i received a bella order recently and i have been sneaking off to play whenever i have a few minutes.... this is one i finished a couple of days ago...how can ya not love da bella's they are just so darn cute...

i finished one tonight to but "Ssshhh!! that one is a secret...well??sort of!!!.... at least until Friday anyway...i just sent it to Em @stamping Bella for her Bellarific Friday Challenge and it would not be fair to post it here before the challenge has been completed....hmm! i may post later next week...

well i have to scoot i need to get my fix....dean winchester....ohhhh-sigh!! he is just so darn hhhottt!! i have not watched a Supernatural episode in a least 3 days now and i can hear him ever so softy calling me....lol....so off i go to step into my little fantasy with him for a for bit before i head off to slumber....

i'm so late on getting this done....but it is coming along quite nicely i have most of the months scrapped i just have to take the time to print the calendar pages and mount them and voila....it will be complete....ya!!
this is proving to be much harder than i thought it would be, i can't get any of the pictures to line up the way i want them to so bear with me with this post is going to be a total mess....sorry about the glARE....i think today is just one of those days maybe i should march me buttock off to bed and hope for a better day tomorrow : )

oiy!! that was hard to do....i give up no more tonight...off to see what the challenge is on stampin bella

Artistic Constipation

Wow!! i just overcame the worst case of artistic constipation i have ever experienced in my life...i was starting to think that it was never going to end??? it was terrible it lasted over a month i was starting to panic....what broke it you ask?? i set off to my lss and to check out all the new goodies....i even went to Ms.....i was very well behaved i did not buy anything at all on the first 2 round trips to my little pieces of heaven i figure "if its not working, i ain't buying" i did pick up a few choice items on my last trip...after getting all my goodies home i became somewhat inspired and well i have started a few of my calendar pages...not finished with them yet...completed 2 layouts(resolution pages show them next time) and made a few cards....my mom, dad and grandsons birthdays on Feb 8, 9 and 10th...my sisters bday is Feb 28th i have attached the card i made for her,,,it was my favorite...its a Bella www.stampingbella.com they are one of my favorite stamp collections...i have a few more Bellas on order that are should be arriving here on Wednesday i can't wait i'm so excited...lol back to the card she is one of my favorite little gals....she is soooooo GRooVy....

WoW! what a rush Christmas is...i don't know why i do it to myself but every year i wait till the last moment and i run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to cram everything that needs to be done into 1 week..whew!!..it's not like i don't know that it coming...its not a surprise it comes every year same time....so what is my problem...hmm...maybe....i work better under pressure lol....or at least i think i do...something else comes every year is the New Year!! and every year for the last 3 years (i can't believe that i have been scrap'n for this long)..i scrap my calendar, and this year is no different....except that i'm very late in getting it started this year(gee no kidding)....but...finished my first page last night...tada...the inspriation for the page came from CTMH TV (http://www.closetomyheart.com/) .... i made page smaller to fit 8 1/2 x 11 page and did my own thing in a couple of places but it is other wise the same...thanks ladies...i'm so excited one down and 11 more to go...yahooo

I found this card on SCS I totally cased it from a lady in the Stamping Bella forum I just loved it...I can't remember the ladies name I cased it from, I did write the info but I have since misplaced it..Sorry!...I don't think I changed anything from the orignal, why mess with perfection! I don't think I will be sending this one out to anyone....I may keep it for myself...

Christmas party

last night i spent the evening with some friends
celebrating our annual christmas party....
i belong to a ladies group and i'm so lucky to be blessed with so many great ladies as my friends.....we spent the night talking, laughing recapping the last year and sharing stories from the past .....it was so much fun....needless to say i'm a little on the worn out side today.....i thought i would share a couple of cards with you....they are from a batch of cards i made them about a week ago....these 2 are my favorites

WOW!!! where the heck did the time go?? .... my sister ragged on me about a week ago "you need to add some new stuf to your blog BOooorrRING!!" imagine my surprise...OH! my!....my blog? i'm such a terrible blogger....i will blame my poor behaviour on the fact that after my last post (in July..eeek!!)we actually started to have a taste of summer here, and well i got caught up in it and totally forgot about everything indoors...including housework....lol i have started to do the indoor stuff again(brrr! to cold out) i now avoid housework by scrap'n, stamp'n and making cards...i thought i would drop in and share a couple of the latest little jems....they really look much better in person...i'm thinking i may need to take a photography course....lol

it feels like it has been forever since i have posted anything....i'm a bad girl!!...i have been trying to get in as much in the sun fun as i can...this summer has seen more rain than i can every remember....my flowers are loving this summer so i can't really complain....this is a double layout i did for my dd 11th birthday....it just seems like yesterday i was waiting for her arrival.....its kinda sad how fast they grow up....we had a spa party, the girls had so much fun they did each others makeup and nails then they did facials.....it was fun to see the results...i was really surprized they were way more conservative with the makeup application than i thought they were going to be....

off i go before the rain starts again......need to get barbie fired up

i do not get the opportunity to take to many pictures of my son anymore....he is at the age where it is way cooler to be out with your buddies than to be hanging out with your mom.....i took these pictures without the boys knowing that i was doing it...lol...it was so sneaky....heehee....i felt like a spy....i'm not a good one by any means....they did eventually catch me..... i was hiding in my living room behind my drapes with my camera and hand positioned between the the sheers and the window
.....hahaaahha...... i thought i was being very clever and sneaky.... it was a little tricky trying to watch what they were doing plus keep the camera on them and not be detected....it was working for a few minutes, but they did catch me and the caper was over.....but i did manage to catch a few good shot of them playing....just for the record i have way more bad shots than good ones....lol....it was worth it....i created this double layout to capture the moment...they grow up way to fast....

Wow!! the last couple of weeks have been totally crazy....i have been so buzi helping my oldest daughter paint her place...it has been a grueling couple of weeks....but it was so worth it ....we painted her kitchen red.....it turned out totally awesome i love it....but it took 4 coats of paint not including the 1 coat tinted primer that we used....but what a finish..i totally love it...but...i have since decided that i don't think i'm going to paint my bedroom red any more....yikes its way to much work....
this is my first time posting scrapbook layouts on my blog...eekkk! ...i decide to post my easter page that i completed a few weeks ago at a friends monthly crop club.....she sent this sketch out to all her girls....it was the first scrapbook page that i had completed in a long time i had most of it done before i went to the crop...but...it felt good to scrap again....i'm pretty happy with the results....

my second page was completed late late last night....another one of my up way to late nights again....but i knew that i was off today....so i played a little longer than i would usually play on a weeknight....i found this sketch on the Prima blog - http://prima.typepad.com/ .....i love prima flowers.....only problem is that i didn't use prima flowers...dagnabit.....i could have submitted the page....o'well i will have to keep it in mind for the next time.....i decided that i would play with my cricut last night so the prima's were left on the shelf ....this layout is my youngest daughter....the picture was taken 4 years ago and it is my favorite picture of her.....i was just close enough to her to get the colour of her eyes....pictures usually make her eyes look almost black but in this one the colour really shows up....her eyes are hazel....i have to change the color of the ribbons..not at all happy with the colour....i don't have any off white ribbon at the moment and the white is to much...Ah! excuse to head off to my lss tomorrow...lol....thanks for looking....
